In our Leap Home Workout review we have covered the best and worst features of the workout app, making it easy for you to decide if it is the right choice for you on your fitness journey. If you want to see other great options available, refer to our home workout app review. Otherwise read on!

The Leap Home Workout is a simple, no-frills fitness app. A decent selection of workouts are available, with some catchy titles like Belly Fat Burner and Butt Blaster Challenge. The workouts are very achievable, making this an ideal app for a user at the start of their fitness journey. The inclusion of a BMI tracker is a nice touch which is missing from rival apps.

Apart from the workouts, there isn’t a lot more going on in this app. There are no social or community features to allow sharing of your exercise achievements with friends, and there is limited progress tracking built into the Leap Home Workout. It is possible to use the free version of the app, however expect to be bombarded with ads and upgrade messages.

If you are looking for a quick and easy option for the occasional workout at home, the Leap Home Workout is a good option. Users who want more advanced features or get their motivation from social engagement will want to look elsewhere.

Pros

  • Simple to use app, easy to get started with workouts
  • Beginner friendly routines with plenty of rest in between sets
  • Nice selection of stretching exercises available
  • Inclusion of weight and BMI tracking

Cons

  • Users on the free version will soon get annoyed with the copious amounts of ads and upgrade messages
  • Lack of progress tracking or achievement features
  • No social or community features

Pricing, Reviews and Signup

  • The app has a Freemium model, where signing up for a premium subscription will unlock all content and remove ads.
  • There is a 7 day free trial for the premium subscription.
  • At the time of writing, all premium content is unlocked until the 1st July 2020
  • The minimum subscription term is 1 month at a price of $9.99
  • Apple App Store average rating of 4.9
  • Google Play Store average rating of 4.8

Workout Review

The Leap app features a good range of workouts including body weight only exercises, as well as workouts using additional equipment such as dumbbells. A nice selection of stretching routines complements the workouts which will help recovery after a hard session. Fitness users living in noise sensitive spaces will appreciate the workouts with no jumping exercises.

Aside from grouping some workouts into helpful categories (abs focus, quick workouts…), there is no search or filter ability making it difficult to locate specific exercises.

The workouts themselves are very beginner friendly with generous rest periods. We tried an intermediate level workout and found it quite easy to complete, and users looking for more advanced workouts might find the intensity level on the low side. A nice feature is a boost rest button, handy when you need an extra few seconds to catch your breath!

Unfortunately there are a few basic features missing here, including no ability to save a workout as a favourite. Be prepared to bring your own tunes as there is a lack of any music integration (a lot of rival apps integrate with Spotify).

Training Plans

There are a couple 4 week schedules available that focus on different areas of the body, with the aim being to workout every day for the duration of the plan and achieve a continuous streak. Unfortunately you can’t tailor to fitness levels or goals, which makes the training plans quite limited.

Progress Tracking and Achievements

The Leap Home Workout has a basic goal setting option where you specify how many times you want to workout each week, with the current progress displayed on the home screen. If you are trying to lose weight, the app comes with a built in weight and BMI tracker to help you monitor your progress.

Overall, the offering here is very limited and there are more fun and engaging features to be found in rival apps.

Community Features

No social features or ability to follow your friends.

Extras

There is also an alarm function if you need a friendly reminder to workout!
