JustFit App Overview
JustFit is a female-focused workout app designed for home workouts that require minimal equipment. It offers beginner-friendly workouts and generates customized training plans based on user goals and fitness levels.
There are some great features in the workout app, such as progress tracking towards target body weight, and daily calorie target to help users achieve their fitness goals.
Although the app can be used for free, the free version has limited access and the app will be locked after a few days, requiring users to upgrade to a pro plan.
Unfortunately there have been some negative reviews recently, mainly due to the misleading free trial (only available for the annual plan and not the monthly!), and some of the content advertised as lazy workouts has been recently removed.
JustFit’s pricing for the pro plan is relatively high with a cost of $19.99 per month (although with a considerable discount for the annual plan). However, there is not enough workout content or features to justify this cost, especially with the Android version missing some key features such as the ability to change training plans. Overall, there are better alternatives available.
Pricing, Reviews and Signup
- The app is free to use, however functionality is locked after a few days and requires a subscription to unlock. The minimum subscription term is 1 month at a price of $19.99
- Apple App Store average rating of 4.8
- Google Play Store average rating of 4.7
- Signup is not required.
Training Plans
The JustFit app generates a personalized training plan based on a comprehensive onboarding quiz that you complete upon first opening the app. The training plan is focused around your current fitness levels and goals, with particular emphasis on your target weight. The app actually calculates the estimated time to reach your target weight, and sets up a workout calendar accordingly. This is great for beginners, as really focuses your efforts towards the final goal.
The training plan is divided into distinct blocks, which help users track their progress and stay motivated.
Unfortunately the app does not offer an easy way to change training plans, especially on Android devices. Users report finding it difficult to modify the data provided during the initial onboarding process, such as current weight, fitness levels, body shape, and target weight.
Workout Review
The workouts generated by JustFit’s training plan are designed with beginners in mind and are generally achievable. The workouts range from 7 to 30 minutes, and require minimal additional equipment.
Routines are all time-based, with users given a set amount of time to complete various exercises. Each exercise is demonstrated with a clear video, and the app features a backing music track and guided audio instructions. You can even integrate their own music through Spotify.
If users don’t want to do a particular exercise, they can easily skip it.
After completing a workout, users are provided with a summary of basic stats such as the number of calories burned and their workout streak.
In addition to the workouts created by the training plan, there is a limited library of extra workout routines available. With gimmicky titles like “Build Your Butt” and “10-Minute Flat Stomach,” this offers some additional options for users who want to squeeze in some more workouts.
Progress Tracking
JustFit provides some simple yet effective progress tracking features.
As mentioned above, you can track your progress towards your target weight by entering new measurements and seeing a graph of your weight. This is fantastic for helping users keep on track and focus on the finishing goal.
In addition the app gives you a daily calorie target to hit, which is calculated based on your fitness profile and target weight. This can be found in the Activities tab, and there are graphs to encourage you to hit this target every day. All the workouts in the app count towards this calorie target, and you can even manually enter additional activities from a huge library to count these calories towards your target as well.
Extras
A unique feature not found in many other fitness apps is the ability to measure your heart rate by utilizing the phone’s camera and light. This innovative feature eliminates the need to purchase costly smartwatches or fitness trackers and lets you track your heart rate before and after workouts.
