Pliability vs GOWOD

Updated June 5, 2023 by Jim

Pliability vs GOWOD

Both Pliability (formerly known as ROMWOD) and GOWOD have their roots in CrossFit, and both advertise themselves as mobility workout apps. In our Pliability vs GOWOD app review we have compared the best features of each so you can decide which is the best choice for your fitness regime.

Although Pliability is rooted in the CrossFit world, it has recently rebranded in an effort to appeal to a wider audience. The workouts are more like classic Yoga sessions, with a key difference being each routine only features a few, long-held stretches. People with busy schedules will appreciate the workout of the day concept, which means you don’t need to plan your workouts in advance.

GOWOD really is a companion app to people who regularly do CrossFit. The app is optimized for users who need a pre/post stretch before their CrossFit workout of the day. Outside this there is little variation in daily workouts which makes regular use for non CrossFitters a little difficult. However, the included mobility test is so good it is worth downloading GOWOD for this alone.

Both apps require a paid subscription to use, with GOWOD coming in a couple of dollars cheaper each month.

Which is better? Pliability or GOWOD?

Both apps are aimed at Athletes looking for a mobility app to help improve performance and recovery in their chosen sport.

If you are an Athlete or sportsperson looking for a Yoga app to compliment your existing fitness regime, Pliability is a great choice. The huge library of routines will keep you coming back for more, and the workout of the day concept means no planning is necessary! The app is also a great option for beginners as the routines are nice and slow with good narration to guide you through exercises.

If you are a dedicated CrossFitter and need a mobility companion app, GOWOD is likely your choice. The workouts and features are designed to be used in conjunction with a CrossFit workout. The mobility test is worth taking regardless of your chosen sport!

Both apps are not cheap and will not suit users on a tight budget.
